Mike Birbiglia headlined MASS MoCA’s High Mud Comedy Festival, the museum’s annual mud season yuk-fest, which returned to North Adams stacked with comedy-club kings and queens, funny film, uncommon workshops, half-brewed beer tastings, mocking museum tours (and whatever else we can think to poke fun at).
Storytelling funny man and This American Life regular Mike Birbiglia headlined the festival Saturday night, joined by comedic songstress Nellie McKay. Saturday Night Live alum Sasheer Zamata kicked things off Friday night with Sasheer Zamata Party Time! featuring Maggie Crane, Comedy Central-favorite Matteo Lane, Joyelle Johnson, and glamazon hip-hop icon Shasta Geaux Pop. Saturday afternoon Reductress helped you hone your comedy chops with a satire writing workshop. High Mud delivered a thousand laughs a minute during two nights of stand-up in MASS MoCA’s Hunter Center. Come early for an afternoon of comedy adventures. This is mud season in the Berkshires — we celebrate!

What to Expect
It’s a festival!
Take your time exploring North Adams and MASS MoCA; you never know where comedy might pop up throughout the weekend. Museum galleries open until 6pm on Friday and Saturday.
Food from our museum café is available throughout the day, and, as promised, we’ll have plenty of good beer on tap, and our full bar is always well-stocked.
The venue, MASS MoCA’s Hunter Center, is general admission. Preferred ticket seats are located in the first rows of the venue—first come, first serve in the preferred section.
All tickets are non-refundable. Word to the wise: High Mud might get dirty; this festival is best suited for audiences 16 and up.
